According to the BBC, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is to join the panel of TV show Dragons’ Den as one of two new investors.
The press release earlier today stated that Parish would be accompanied by Jenny Campbell for the show’s 15th series to be shown later in the summer.
Parish is quoted to have said: “I’m thrilled to become a dragon and really excited to meet the entrepreneurs in this series, see what ideas they bring to the den and how I might be able to help them grow.”
Palace fans might remember former Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis was an investor on Dragons’ Den when Simon Jordan was Palace chairman. The two men were good friends and had a public sniping match with each other.
In one particular snipe Paphitis labelled Crystal Palace as “Crippled Alice” which brought a lot of criticism from disabled charities.
Let’s hope that Steve Parish doesn’t over stretch himself and invest some much needed transfer funds in some hair brained investment ideas such as a solar power torch, left handed screwdrivers or bubbles for spirit levels.
